I so enjoyed this book The funny thing about this book is that I bought it several years ago  before I even begin to live a healthy life Style. See below a few key points that I received from this amazing book.

Ten Natural Health Habits

1. Drink 8 glasses of water

2. Visit a park or beach

3. Check  your thought and create new ones.

4. Reach out to call friends and family.

5. Laugh and Play.

6. Praise yourself and learn to appreciate yourself.

7. Take time for you.

8.  Learn to bring yourself joy with  cultivating hobbies and talents.

9. Go to bed on time.

10. last but not least connect with God.

Key Points

  1. Allow food to become your medicine.
  2. Figure out why you are overeating.

Black Woman and weight

  1. Learn to set real weight goals.
  2. Consult with an expert.
  3. keep a food mood diary.
  4. Make one change at a time.
  5. Snack on fruits and veggies.


According to a Vegetarian resource group there are  roughly 3.5 million African-Americans that are living as vegetarians . Research suggest that a vegetarian lifestyle maybe the best diet choice for black woman. Vegetarians have lower incidences of hypertension and colorectal cancer then the non vegetarians.

How to Make the transition to vegetarian living.

  1. Add more veggies and fruits.
  2. Experiment with plant protein sources.
  3. Plan meatless meals.
  4. Make friends with other vegetarians.
  5. Buy vegetarian cook books.
